Mary Lou's 2004 Valentine's Day Nails were done using Fabric. I had her pick out the fabric print of her choice. We initally thought thin fabric (like silk) would be best, but this fabric worked great (I believe it is a cotton blend).
Then, using a thin vicosity Resin, I adhered the fabric to the tip.
I trimmed the excess. Brushed over the top of the entire tip (and any excess fabric) with Brush-On Resin. This hardened the material so that I could file the excess on all sides. I also used an e-file to define the smile, the refined it with a hand file.
I then did all my pre-enhancement service to her nails. Had her wash. Then applied the tips to her nails. I dehydrated her nail beds and primed them.
Next, I overlayed her entire nail and tip in Acrylic. I chose to use a soft pink acrylic.
Finish file as usual. Buff to a high shine. Cuticle Oil and Kapping Sealer to the tops and underneath the clear tips and you're done! I suggest pre-sizing your clients tips and having the record on hand. Then, you can pre-fab the tips ahead of time. Mary Lou brought me this fabric, so I made the tips right at the service. Depending on your location you can get $100-$150 for this set. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
